Although we have been serving clients since 1975, The Mirza Law Group, LLP was formed in 2001. Today our practice consists of four distinct areas. We offer low cost retainers for our corporate clients, and a no-recovery no-fee retainer for property damage insurance claims.
Assad S. Mirza, Esq. – AICPA, Masters of Law in Taxation
Mr. Mirza has been a member of The Florida Bar since 2001, the D.C. Bar, a member of the United States Tax Court, and admitted to practice before the U.S. Federal Court and U.S. Bankruptcy Court. A graduate of Villanova University with a Masters of Law in Taxation, a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, and a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from Florida International University. Assad Mirza has been lead counsel and appealed real estate cases before the Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeals. He obtained full written opinions in several cases that have been published in law books. One of the opinions is an en banc opinion, a rare accomplishment for most lawyers. Mr. Mirza’s legal experience includes working at the law firms of Atlas Pearlman, P.A., interning at Baker & McKenzie and the Internal Revenue Service – Office of Chief Counsel. Prior to entering the practice of law, he worked in the field of corporate finance as a Certified Public Accountant (licensed in Georgia), negotiated and conducted due diligence on purchase and divestiture transactions in affiliated divisions of FPL Group, Inc. and LeBlanc & Royal Enterprises, Inc.
Since 2001 Assad Mirza’s primary area of practice includes litigation, construction law, community association law, business and taxpayer issues, water leak and insurance claims, and community association law. He serves as general and corporate counsel for various privately held corporations. Assad is also a contributing writer for various publications. Mr. Mirza is a public classroom speaker for many topics including topics involving: contracting, construction, 40 year certification, water leaks, corporate limitations of liability, condominium and HOA issues, etc.
Shamim A. Mirza, Esq. – Founder
Mr. Mirza has been practicing law for over 40 years. Mr. Mirza has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1975, and is admitted to practice before the United States Federal Court. He is a graduate of University of Florida with degree in Juris Doctorate. Mr. Shamim Mirza is an experienced civil and criminal litigator, with cases reported in the Federal United States Court of Appeals. Those opinions have been published in the law books. Currently, he is semi-retired and he focuses primarily on complex civil litigation matters.
Previously, Mr. Shamim Mirza was a well renowned attorney in Pakistan, with significant political and legal standing. There he was a professor of corporate and civil law. He originally came to the United States with a delegation from Pakistan to lobby before the United Nations in New York, NY for human aid. Upon arrival he realized the fame about America, and its promise of equality and due process for ALL its people was true and that it actually existed. He decided to make America his new home, moved his entire family to the new country. Since then he became the first known Florida Lawyer from the Asian-Indian subcontinent. Shamim Mirza has dedicated his life to serving as a fighter and protector of the American civil liberties, and making legal services available to the needy and the disenfranchised.
